YEAR 11 DRAMA

“Forget Homer: think George Lucas, the great Stanley Kubrick’s ‘2001- A Space Odyssey’. In fact the sci-fi pastiche is really an amusing ex-cuse for a selection of famous stories turned into witty and accomplished sketches.”
– Time Out (said of the original play)

A SPACE ODYSSEY
Year 11 GCSE Drama are putting on a production of “The Odyssey” by Homer.
But forget Ancient Greeks and heroes of stone. This is more like Homer Simpson than Homer the Ancient poet of Classical Greece. The entire story is retold set ‘in a galaxy near you’ as Star Wars would say.
The students have been rehearsing since the end of last term. They have managed to create an extraordinary array of video, sound, and lighting effects to bring the story to life. It is Fun, fast and daft.
